Liu Feng grew up in the mountains, developing a deep affection for landscapes and a profound understanding of their ever-changing natural phenomena, such as clouds, mist, and ice. He also possesses unique insights into the interpretation and creation of landscapes. Through bold experimentation with ink, techniques, materials, and Feng Shui, and by widely absorbing innovative ideas from renowned artists, he has persistently shaped his distinctive artistic style. His metaverse-themed landscape paintings employ distinctive brushwork, vividly capturing the mystique and vitality of nature. Liu Feng's modern ink paintings are grand and majestic, traversing vast valleys with innatecharm. Whether in monumental scrolls measuring over two zhang (approximately 6.9 meters) or compact round fans spanning just over a chi (about 33 centimeters), his works reveal dramatic shifts of dark ink, creating ethereal and fantastical scenes. These pieces evoke the intensity of wind and storm, brimming with dynamism, while also evoking vast deserts and profound Zen realms.
The concept of Liu Feng's Metaverse Ink-Wash Landscape Painting essentially combines the expressive spirit of classical Chinese art with the futuristic essence of digital technology, exploring how art can define beauty, space, and existence in a new world where virtual and physical elements intertwine. This practice represents both a creative transformation of traditional culture and a profound exploration of the humanistic connotations of the Metaverse.
